Where is the Contemporary Art?
At this conference, the Global Art and the Museum project curators will discuss the new status of art and contemporary art museums in a globalized world. Museums are being discussed as controversial sites of cultural production, where the cultural representation, whether national, local or popular is easily turned into a political issue. Global Art and the Museum, in its new expansion, can substantially change the concept of what contemporary art and art in general are, facing that nowadays art has been made at unusual places that has never been made before in history. Places that don’t have any museological tradition.
