Rustom Bharucha is an independent writer, director and cultural critic based in Kolkata, India. He is the author of several books including Theatre and the World (Routledge, 1993), The Question of Faith, In the Name of the Secular, The Politics of Cultural Practice (Oxford University Press/Wesleyan, 2000), and Rajasthan: An Oral History (Penguin, 2003). His latest book, Another Asia (Oxford University Press, 2006), is an inter-Asian study of Rabindranath Tagore and Okakura Tenshin, within the larger contexts of nationalism, pan-Asianism, and cosmopolitanism.
