Ding Ning has a Ph.D. in Aesthetics and Art Theory from Beijing Normal University. He is now a professor of Art History and Theory, and Vice Dean at the School of Arts, Peking University. His research interests are Chinese art, art theory and cultural studies.
Publications include: Depth of Art (Hangzhou, 1999), Fifteen Lectures on Western Art History (Beijing, 2003) and Visual Art Appreciation (Shanghai, 2007).
