Anthony Gardner is the Research Forum / Andrew Mellon Foundation MA Postdoctoral Fellow at The Courtauld Institute of Art, London, for 2010-2011, researching global conceptualism, as well as the aesthetic politics of postsocialism in European art. He holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and from 2011-2014 will be an ARC Research Fellow through the University of Melbourne, examining the three waves of biennialisation in art since the 1890s. His writings on art and exhibition histories have most recently appeared in the journals “Third Text”, “Postcolonial Studies” and “The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art”, as well as “Crossing Cultures” (ed. J. Anderson) and the reader for the SCAPE biennial in Christchurch, New Zealand (ed. B. French).
