Thomas Fillitz, Prof. Ph. D., is Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna, teaching experiences at various universities in Europe. Ethnographic field researches in Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Bénin, London, Paris, and New York. Research interests: contemporary art in Africa, visual culture, transnational processes, postcolonial theory. Regional interests: Africa and Europe.
Thomas Fillitz ist Professor für Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie an der Universität Wien und Vorstand des Instituts für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie. Er war Gastprofessor an der Université des Sciences et Technologies Lille-1 (2001, 2003) sowie an der Université Lumière Lyon-2 (2008). Forschungsinteressen: Kunstwelten und Global Art, Visual Culture, Globalisierung, Kosmopolitanisierung und transnationale Prozesse.
